Change has come

So it's about time I move on,

TO A NEW BLOG.

Yes I'll most probably be shifting to a new blog next week, right after my SPM trials. Url will most likely be ariffsuffian.com, it's not up yet btw. I'll be blogging more often then and hopefully it'll be a better blog than this!

That's all :)

Perform, Prom.

After last night, I realized that I don't want to stop blogging. I missed the joy of seeing the number of readers on my blog increased, getting email notifications on every comment posted on my posts and so on. Anyway, I'll start blogging on random happening things that I find interesting.

It's 5 am now, after my sahur, listening to 'Teenage Dreams', alright, let's blog.

It's senior year in high school, and as usual, there's gonna be prom at the end of the year. I will be attending my own high school prom but to me, I feel that it just won't be enough. I don't wanna end my students days with just a prom. That's why I've decided to perform for every other prom. Next year will be somewhat of a new start, it's time to meet new people.

So, my band has auditioned for a couple of schools. You could say nearly every audition went as planned. So far we've gotten a spot in Taman Sea, Damansara Utama and a high school in Kuantan. I still have yet to explain the Kuantan show to my parents. On another note, we're auditioning for KDU prom at the end of the current two week holiday, right before my trials. On another sad-er note, we got it for Bandar Sri Damansara but they're prom had problems and they had to cancel it :/ We still have other schools to try for so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Speaking of prom, this isn't a complain or anything but I feel that, we (yes us Malaysians) have changed the true meaning of prom. When I see pictures of other proms, or even blog posts on prom, it's always the same things. It feels & looks like just another event. Is it just me or what?

Speaking of epic failure, there's this new show on disney channel. It's called 'Waktu Rehat'. I saw a couple of the ads on TV. Okay to be honest, from the bottom of my heart, just judging by the ads, I swear it's sucha a failure. I don't know what it is but just having Malaysians trying to copy a High School Musical kind of show doesn't work. Don't ask why IT JUST DOESN'T.

I've said too much for one post.

Do you feel cold,
do you need someone to hold,
because I know, its our night before we grow old,
so let go, & behold,
prom.

Cheer 2010

As you'd know, yesterday and the day before it was Cheer 2010. I didn't go for the first day because I was busy having auditions for a high school prom. Buy my school team, Dynamitez and the new all boys Mikeymitez did well.

I took off quite early on sunday, around 7 I had left the LRT station. Nothing much happened on the trip there, hardly saw any other supporters since it was so darn early. I went with my friend, Jason, and we stopped at Mc D in Masjid Jamek for breakfast since we were early. I can't believe I paid RM3.30 for a small cup of Ribena, conned.

Honestly, this year, there weren't that many people there. A lot of empty seats, except for us of course, and the teams beside us.

I don't have that many photo's since I was busy cheering so much so I just just some shots from my iPhone. We really did cheer our asses off, we had a few vuvuzela's with our supporters, it was quite disgusting though when everyone wanted to try it, and there was so much saliva inside when we took a peak!

There was a girl who handed out whistles to us and we went crazy with them! We were blew it non-stop and I tell you I could hear the ring in my ear till this morning. I had some body art done too by Nicole, I had a dynamite on my left cheek, and I drew this on my left arm!

Before Dynamitez went up, me and some other guys ran around the stadium twice, and after their performance we did it once. I realize that I'm really unfit because I was so damn tired from running those few rounds!

So let's just move on to the results, surprise surprise Mickeymitez got the award for best new comer! Dynamitez manage to claim the 3rd placing! Mind you it's a national event so that's a really good win for them. Congrats once again :) You all did goooooooood!

Some leftovers, anyway, at the end, there were these cheerleaders from Titans. They came up to me and my friends and they handed us, candies!

How sweet of them. Then, we had a brilliant idea to give it to some other cheerleader. You know some things are just not fun to describe in words, thankfully I recorded the whole thing we did. Enjoy;

Haha yeah, that's us having fun. Feels good to be doing these kinda things once in a while. There are more things that I did on the way home but I just don't know how to put them into words! Like how I got hit in the arm by the train doors.

So that was my Cheer 2010 experience, I'll definitely go again next year, but with a big surprise :D

Oh one more thing, I MISSED THE WORLD CUP FINAL MATCH :(

Additional Pain In The Ass

I finished it in one night, with the help of my awesome members of course.

I really don't see the use of this project, it's just another way to waste paper. Most of the people would get the answers from their tuition teachers and some online sample. Not that there isn't anyone who'd really do this on their own, but the numbers are really really small.

On another hand, I received my license on Monday! I'm so damn relieved that I don't have to go through any more hours waiting like a dumb ass idiot because of the stupid driving school systems. I'm free!

All the time wasted, kinda paid off because I passed all my exam with the first try. There was this funny incident that happened during the road test though. Everyone got a Viva, I was the only one with a sucky Kancil. So the JPJ dude came in, and before I even crossed the starting line my engine died twice, because I was in the wrong gear. Stupid old cheap gearbox!

Whatever at least I passed, now I can rock the world!

oh did I mention I've never driven a car besides when learning at the school? Oh yeah.

Quick Update 11

Hi again, I really though that I'd permanently abandoned this blog, but somehow, I felt the urge to blog again today. So here I am, fully determined that I'd blog again.

Anyway recently, I bought a new guitar. I'm quite happy with it but at the same time a little sad because I had to let go of my old equipments to pay half of the new guitar. I sold of my Ibanez guitar, Line 6 amp and KORG Multi effects pedal. I had some really good memories with them, especially the guitar. My very first few gigs were with them, went through the good and bad stage moments with them. Once I even threw the guitar on to the stage floor because I had a bad performance.

Here's some snapshots of the new guitar, oh, it's an Epiphone Custom SG if you're wonderin'

Yup it is definitely a beauty! So what else is new in life?

I've started a new band too. Support our page on FB! We called Let Go Tomorrow. I've been through many bands and I finally think I'm settling down for one, and being serious about it. I wanna rock, and I want us to be noticed. I know we can, you just watch out for LGT :)

My Water Moments

This photo can reflect the theme 'My Water Moments' because it'll make all my fans go crazy and flood the stage with tears! Although this picture would definitely be cooler if I had a waterproof camera like the Sony TX5! I'd be the first rocker in history to get this pose done underwater! I'm sure most of you have hear about this cool little gadget.

But if you haven't, here some of it's awesome/superb/amazing features that no other camera has.

Before that, let me show you how the camera looks like!

Stunning eh? Anyway, moving on to some of the cool features it has.

Water-proof
Dive in with the water-proof Cyber-shot TX5. Capture beautiful underwater shots up to 3m deep for up to 60 minutes*.

Temperature-proof
Keep on shooting even below freezing point up to –10ºC** with this tough camera in harsh weather conditions.

Dust-proof
With the superb dust-resistance of the Cyber-shot TX5, you can be assured to always get spotless images whatever the environment is!

Shock-proof
The shock-proof design of the Cyber-shot TX5 allows drops of up to a height of 1.5m*, the usual height we hold the camera for photo-taking.

I think it's near indestructible? There are a lot more features jam packed in this camera, here's the full list if your interested http://www.sony.com.my/product/dsc-tx5

I'm really eager to get my hands on that camera, it's everything you could ever ask for in a camera! I'm not really a fan of big DSLR camera's so this would fit me perfectly! Well, that's all for now!

We are Potatoes

Finally I've found my blogging mojo, I feel horrible for ditching this blog! Anyway, straight to the post!

Last Saturday was my school's (SMKDJ) Interact IU Day, and we performed in it. Our band name for this show was Potato Punishment, yeah created again by me in just a blink of an eye. It's also in a way our class band since all the members were from our class! This shows how cool my class is :)

However, the event on a school day! It's good in a way that we get to skip class for soundcheck but bad at the same time because we couldn't really make noise! We were having soundcheck for the song Brick By Boring Brick and out of nowhere Pn Ruth (one of the school administrators) came into the hall and shouted at us! To top that off, she took all our mics away and said if we made any more noise, she's cancel the band performances!

All the bands had to be pushed to the end of the event, we could only play after 5! We were the closing act so we were expecting a really awesome hyped out crowd! Let's get right into the performances!

Potato Punishment Part 1

An acoustic cover of Matchbox 20 - Unwell. This was a really last minute decision but honestly, that's what were all about and that's what makes us so special! Cover was by Tian Xi and Kemuel only. The rest of us we're still chilling back stage waiting for the upcoming song. The crowd was really supportive by singing along too!

Potato Punishment Part 2

This was another last minute call. Blink 182 - All The Small Things. The first and second song were only decided the day before and we actually only practiced the second song a few times during soundcheck on the day itself! Me, Yoong Tat and Kemuel were playing in this video.

Potato Punishment Part 3

Hero Heroine by Boys Like Girls. It was Me, Kemuel, Tian Xi and Jian Wen. I think the crowd really enjoyed this song! Especially when Jian Wen sang the bridge, all the girls went wild! Love to hear the crowds voice when they sing along and clap to our performance :) Really happy with this cover.

Potato Punishment Part 4

Brick By Boring Brick. We were really hoping that we could bring the crowd in front of us. But the teacher didn't allow us! LIKE WTH! Ugh, but the crowd stood up at their places anyway! We did a little bit of mistakes at the end since we kept changing parts of the songs too many times. It didn't really matter though as long as the crowd enjoyed it! Raeesah sang the song, her first time singing for a band.

Woah, I guess you could say that was the best performance I had so far. The crowd really set the mood for us, how they cheered and supported us ;) We still felt awesome a few days after the show because of you guys!

Some pictures of us during the performance, thanks to Zhen Yang for the pics!

Some of our awesome supporters, sorry but I don't have a picture of the crowd to post up but you guys were really awesome! Especially when you guys sang along with us and stood up! How unfortunate the teacher didn't allow you guys to get in front & up close. Who knew what could've happened then haha.

It was a good good day. Really can't wait to perform again. This gig has really set the mood for us to perform better and perform more in front of bigger crowds! Full photo album can be found here. Oh yeah, we are Potato Punishment!

Picture once again by Esfern Tan. Alright, I'm signing off!

Keep rockin'!

How's it going?

I haven't had much time to blog lately, mostly because of school activities especially sports because the 'MSSD season' is arriving for me, my schools sports day is coming soon too. Other than that, my dad has been constantly keeping my laptop away from me, thus making blogging next to impossible.

First term break;

It was a great week, went out here and there. I had a nice birthday dinner with my close friends at Tony Roma's. Got some nice presents like a Chinese Phrase book from Gaston and a T shirt from Sophie and Marcus :D

I went to watch a movie after that with some of them, The Book of Eli, if I'm not mistake. The show was okay but it was around 11pm and I was so tired. I fell asleep 3 times in the movie!

Oh before I forget, Happy Birthday Rebecca a.k.a Superstar :D I haven't wished you on my blog yet!

Thanks for the cute teddy bear (: The deco was really really great, but but but, my card deco was better? No? Haha!

I also went out with my cute cousins during the break!

There's nothing much I could say besides that I had a great time spending the day with them. We 'burnt' a few hundred bucks on lunch at Italianes though! Tsk tsk expensive food. Oh and the bartender was checking me out and...

I've got an oral presentation to finish right now for tomorrow.

Poken?

Oh, look what came in the mail today!

What a way to make the evening better after coming back from an awesome day with my cousins. So, I bet you wanna know what's inside! It's a..

POKEN!

It's okay, hell, I didn't even know what it was. According to the website, a Poken is your 'social business card.' it's the easy way to share your contact details and online social networks in the real world. just hold two poken palms together - high4! - and you're connected.

Hmm, a virtual business card. I like.

Well just a short post, I've yet to find out how it works and stuff!

I'm 17 and invincible.

11th March, 2010, 0:00 Hours. I turned 17.

It wasn't something that I was looking forward too because I had exams on that day, add maths and chemistry. It's all ready bad enough that those 2 papers were really difficult!

Anyway, enough of complaints. After school, around 4. I went to KGNS to celebrate my birthday with Raeesah, Gaston, Kemuel and Fenderick.

At first, we spent some time taking pics and messing around with the turtle near at the club pond.

We were like retards who'd never seen a pond before! Gaston had the idea to take a turtle out of the pond, and so he did. After taking it out, it got so wild in his hands he just had to put in down. Then, then.. The turtle freaking chased us. Yes, we were running away from a vicious turtle. Surprisingly, it climbed and found its way back into the pond. It's a smart vicious turtle :D

After that, we were so damn hungry so we headed to the Golfers Terrace to our dinner. BUT, since Kemuel and Gaston were wearing slippers, we weren't allowed to eat anywhere, except the poolside, which had sucky service and food. The idiotic girl forgot my apple juice, only my drink!

Thank god Fenderick hasn't arrived yet by that time, so he brought some shoes along. Smelly school shoes haha!

It was an awesome mini celebration (: Filled with such idiotic things and laughter. That pizza in the picture, was gone in a few seconds, and we were like barbarians trying to claim who's cheese belonged to whom :P Love those retards.

After dinner we went to karaoke! There's videos but I'm only posting it up on facebook, very embarrassing ones :P Thanks to the oldie people who were there and wished me (: and also for supporting us when we sang even though it was so bad!

They day was ended with Kemuel starting his '17' tradition, and I was the first, victim.

Yeah, the things that can happen when I'm with him.

LEO Musical Charity Concert

Finally, reunited with my laptop again. I can't believe my dad now wants to freaking keep my laptop on weekdays.

Last Saturday was the Leo Joint Musical Charity Concert Project at Taylors Hall Subang campus.

I was performing with my band. Our name on that day was, Jumping Jane. Once again, created by me, a few minutes before we went up stage. We have such a bad habit of changing our names often. On that day itself, we went from 10'5 (10 OH 5), to Fantesticle and finally Jumping Jane.
But no worries, it's all settled now. We're sticking with the name Plan-T! Go ahead click it :p

We really spent a lot of money on this gig. We even payed more to perform than what the guests payed to see the show. Nevertheless, the experience was priceless. Thanks to Hot Attics also, the other band that performed on that day who helped us out a lot with the equipments!

This is the only shot I have of you guys, you gotta admit it's an awesome one!

We played 2 songs on that day. Sugar Were Going Down and Move Along. The crowd was great too, very supportive. This was so much better than Overodse. Although the stage was missing a mic for me but whatever, it was still great.

There was a dance performance before us, so the drumset and amps were not set up yet. After the dance, the had the curtains closed. We rushed to get all the things in place and as fast as we could. Oh this was the time I brain stormed a band name out! So after the got the things ready, the curtains opened slowly. We started making noise. Drums, guitars, distortion, everything and the crowd kept cheering!

I have to admit that I was really nervous before the performance because all the other acts were really good, but after that awesome opening & crowd, it all went away!

Performance was great. Kemuel dropped his drumstick twice.
They were also raising funds for a breast cancer campaign. They even had

'samples' ? For us curious people to fondle. It felt real, but to feel the breast with the cancer tumor inside, that was freaky. Kemuel really enjoyed this moment. The girl in charge of the booth even took a photo of us, sigh. Now our picture is gonna be on some breast cancer campaign website

Overall, the concert was great. Entertaining the whole way, all that was missing was an after party. Since exams were just a week away, we couldn't have one. Made a lot of new friends too, members of Hot Attics, beat boxers and rappers, and other school students! Well, this is a new start for us

That's all (:

p.s. Plan-T will be performing for DU Leo Fund Raising Concert on 2nd of April @ TTDI Cimmunity Hall! Come join us!
